Key Ring is a simple yet effective app for the Evo. Key Ring lets you store all of your retail discount and club cards on your HTC Evo. So you will no longer need to carry a bunch of little annoying plastic cards on your keyring. This free app works perfectly well with the store’s barcode scanner. You just have to run the app, pull up the relevant club card and hold up the displayed barcode so that the cashier can scan it.
While the interface does appear a little unpolished and sparse, the developers of this Evo app have paid attention to the things that matter. Key Ring uses software to try and compensate for the glare that your HTC Evo’s shiny new screen presents to the barcode reader. You can begin using Key Ring with almost no effort at all, barring the initial awkwardness of fishing out your HTC Evo instead of your keychain on being asked for a rewards card.
