Listen
Listen for the HTC Evo and Android is a product of Google Labs and is designed for listening to podcasts, manage podcast subscriptions, and of course, search for podcasts across the web and directories. It is integrated with Google Reader and you can manage your subscriptions through the web interface on your desktop and any changes you make there will be reflected on your Evo as well. You can also use this Evo app to discover popular new podcasts, which will come in very useful if you don’t have a healthy library of regular podcasts just yet. It is designed to manage a pretty large number of subscription and you’ll find it pretty straight-forward to get started and fill up your subscriptions.
Like most other Google apps the interface is pretty sparse but very functional. Your podcast lists are displayed along with a preview icon, size, length, and last updated time. All subscriptions are automatically refreshed when the app is launched, but you can also manually refresh your feeds with a single tap. You can either download each podcast right to your Evo for later or offline listening or listen to streaming podcasts without downloading them. Other than the sparse interface, the only other drawback is the lack of playback settings such as an option to listen at double speed. Overall, Listen is a great HTC Evo app for heavy podcast users as well as those looking to discover new ones.
