NewsRoom is an RSS reader app. It is easily one of the best RSS reader Evo apps available on the Market at present. It handles a large number of feeds in a very simple grid-based interface and works flawlessly and pushing up the latest News to your Evo’s screen. Articles are beautifully presented with a very nice preview feature where you can scroll horizontally through your new RSS items while still getting a majority of the first paragraph of the piece. You can star items for later perusal.
RSS sources are presented as a familiar grid on the main screen of the app. You can fill multiple “pages” of these sources which appear as icons with numbers over them indicating the number of unread items for each source. The formatting and flow of the articles, including how images fit into the articles is very well done. Adding and deleting sources is a breeze, but it’s mainly designed to setup once and browse forever – not for managing and organizing your feeds. Overall, this is a must-have app for both News junkies and the casual RSS reader on the HTC Evo.
